Frontier Technologies: AI & Blockchain

A month-long competition for projects that combined AI + blockchain to solve practical problems for Missouri businesses, healthcare, civic systems, and education. $1,500 in prizes awarded.

The baseline requirement was simple: it had to work end-to-end — an elegant primitive or a finished app. We looked for mature, real-world applications.

Official Results & Recap

Finals held June 18, 2026 at the Keystone Innovation District.

“Our core thesis from day one was clear: AI alone is not enough. Missouri doesn’t need more disposable apps built over a single weekend; our state needs robust, real-world systems that couple the predictive power of AI with the data ownership, transparency, and cryptographic trust of blockchain.”

The Winners
Pranav Barot receiving the 1st place certificate for Aegis
🥇 1st Place$1,000 Cash Prize

Aegis

Final Score
Healthcare AssetsPranav Barot (Solo)

A stellar health-tech trust layer that places patient consent under strict cryptographic control. The system forces two independent, local AI models to verifiably agree before minting a tamper-proof, on-chain proof-of-inference receipt.

Key Technical Highlight

Airtight technical proof, local-chain simulation using stablecoin micro-settlements (HB 2080), and immediate compliance utility for major regional health networks.

Team playhaus — Britt Huffman and Connor Borrego — receiving the 2nd place certificate
🥈 2nd Place$500 Cash Prize

growbot harness

Final Score
Intellectual PropertyTeam playhaus

A highly sophisticated verification pipeline designed to extract and audit numerical AI-generated advertising claims, transforming verified data into tamper-evident, licensable IP.

Key Technical Highlight

Outstanding alignment with Coherence Research standards. Featured deterministic data versioning and passed 52 end-to-end tests, including 23 adversarial trap tests designed to break lazy LLM compliance.

Final Score
TransportationDavid Steele Overholt (Solo)

A compelling transportation access utility designed to use digital assets (NFT-based access) and offline map fallbacks to ensure riders are never stranded in cellular dead zones.

Key Technical Highlight

Strong problem framing and a concrete streetcar/GTFS integration roadmap praised by the panel for regional transit resilience.

At MOMENT, we ensure great code doesn’t just gather dust on GitHub. How teams were judged

Teams picked one of the four MOMENT tracks and built a working primitive — a function, workflow, or component that addresses a real adoption problem.

  • Industrial Provenance — supply chain transparency, manufacturing history, material tracking
  • Intellectual Property — copyright, digital rights, dynamic licensing, asset lineage
  • Healthcare Assets — secure patient identity, diagnostic workflows, medical records, privacy-preserving health data
  • Transportation — logistics, AV data logging, verifiable delivery records, programmable billing

Strategic multipliers (bonus scoring)

  • HB 2080 Payment Readiness — tools that help Missouri businesses accept, settle, or reconcile digital assets
  • Coherence Research Frameworks — low semantic drift, low-hallucination AI design (coherenceresearch.com)
  • Civic Infrastructure (Breathing City) — primitives that let a community record its own history without centralized networks

Every submission had to include both a meaningful AI component and a meaningful blockchain / digital-asset / wallet / payment / identity component — removing either would break the system.
